Meraas and Dubai welcomes the 9th edition of the Arab Fashion Week on 9th October 2019 at 14, an iconic space specifically created and dedicated for luxury shopping, custom made fashion and lifestyle experience.

The first night hosted international celebrities and artists from all the Arab Region and USA, and Alina K, a RomanianLebanese Dubai based singer known for her elegant style and fluid voice. On its first day, the Arab Fashion Week hosted the following designers that showcased their amazing collection.

Charbel Zoe – Lebanon

Charbel Zoe is a Lebanese designer who studied Fashion Design, Marketing and Photography at Esmod-Paris. As a child, he was inspired by his grandmother’s couture sense of fashion. His work draws heavy inspiration from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Elie Saab and Givenchy, and he has worked alongside many industry icons such as Elie Saab, Ungaro, and Zuhair Mrad. He was very proud of working at his favorite design-house Givenchy where they implemented many of his designs.

YLY Studio and FromClothingOf

FromClothingOf, a brand from Hong Kong presented by Fashion Farm Foundation, showcased SS20 collection “Perfectly Imperfect”, it celebrates loser, inspiring from the movie “Inside Llewyn Davis”. The designer believes that life with regret is the essence of life; she hopes to present a kind of defective beauty. Designer will piece thin taffeta or cotton, mesh and Organza together. The clothes will be contoured with semi-dress and irregular cuts to present the layering and an unfinished regret. FromClothingOf is founded in 2015 with the aim of breaking away from conventional ideas about women’s fashion and aesthetics. The name “FromClothingOf” comes from “Exlibris”, meaning “from library of”, i.e. my book.

YLY Studio

YLY Studio, presented by the Hong Kong Fashion Farm Foundation, is a brand that offers fashion collections and also embroidery workshop. With focusing on women swear, the workmanship, embroidery and knitwear are three key elements of the brand. YLY Studio designers Matt Hui Yip Long and Lilian Tsang Lai Yu would hope that they can bring people’s focuses and appreciations back the details and workmanship in fashion, and not just the fast-moving trend.

Valeryia As’ad – UAE

Valeryia As’ad is a professional fashion designer. She designed very unique handmade knitted dresses where she mixed simplicity, sophistication and intricate embroidery while using very old technique of blending traditional classic in contemporary style. Flawless style, impeccable quality of finishing and simplicity for everyday wear, this is why her collections was adored by everyone.

Naja Saade – Lebanon

Naja Saade has shown a distinguished capacity of balancing modern designs with traditional elegance. His Simple yet extremely refined and meticulously handcrafted collections create an attractively simple and clear look. Naja Saade – who brings to life unique designs created with love to reflect the woman’s image and personality and mirror her femininity in all its forms – is leaving an imprint in this era’s fashion scene. Exteriorizing every woman’s power and light will always be his call!

Baravia – UAE

Baravia Fashion offers both ready to wear, made to order unique and stylish wedding dresses and elegant evening and casual dresses for special occasions, exclusively for the fashion forward and bold-young and old people who are not afraid to stand out and break outside the norm! Gulnora is always known in her simple designs with details and embroidery. Her dresses are mostly timeless and she does not focus on the age gap when designing.
